Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home (Ofsted Registered)

Location: Locksheath
Salary: £40,810 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Predominantly Monday to Friday, office hours; however, flexibility will be required to work shifts on the floor as needed to meet the needs of the home.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our Ofsted-registered children’s home in Locksheath. Standards of care and compliance, and promoting positive outcomes for the young people in our care.

You will lead and support the staff team, contribute to care planning, and ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking to step up into a leadership position or for an existing Deputy Manager seeking a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home.

• Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.

• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and company policies.

• Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.

• Contribute to inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Work flexibly, including occasional shifts on the floor, to meet the needs of the service.

Requirements

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent).

• Experience working in a children’s residential care setting.

• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks.

• Proven experience in leading, developing, and supporting a staff team.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

• A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
