Location: Leicester 
Salary: Up to £54,000 (negotiable for the right person) + bonuses
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (with 1 day per week working from home)

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic residential children’s home in Leicester, supporting children aged 6–12 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities

• Take full operational responsibility for the management and performance of the home.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the care team to deliver exceptional therapeutic care.

• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and all relevant legislation.

• Promote best practice in safeguarding and child-centred support.

• Oversee individualised care planning, risk management, and therapeutic strategies.

• Build strong working relationships with families, local authorities, and external professionals.

• Maintain a safe, emotionally supportive, and development-focused environment.

• Manage budgets, staffing, and resources efficiently.

Requirements

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

• Significant experience in residential childcare.

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager preferred — strong Deputies ready to progress will also be considered.

• Excellent understanding of Ofsted frameworks and Children’s Home Regulations.

• Passion for trauma-informed, therapeutic models of care.

• Full UK driving licence (essential).

• Must be aged 21+ (in line with regulations).

• Must have the right to work in the UK.
