Joneshouse Recruitment is proud to be recruiting for a passionate and experienced Lead Mathematics Teacher on behalf of a specialist provision in Cannock.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the direction of the Maths department while delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and motivate students. The successful candidate will play a key role in curriculum development, supporting colleagues, and creating a positive learning environment that builds confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed Maths lessons tailored to individual pupil needs, including those with SEND and trauma backgrounds

• Lead curriculum development within the Maths department

• Use assessment data effectively to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies

• Promote social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed approaches

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning in line with school policies

• Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to ensure effective support

• Contribute to whole-school improvement and departmental leadership

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a SEND or similar specialist setting

• Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour

• Strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and behaviour management in specialist education

• Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

• Commitment to safeguarding, professional conduct, and high standards
