About the Role
Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Project Worker to support adults and families affected by domestic abuse across the New Forest.
This rewarding community-based role focuses on empowering survivors to rebuild their lives through practical, emotional and advocacy support. You’ll work with individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them stay safe, access essential services and move towards independent living.
Working closely with partner agencies, you’ll manage your own caseload while delivering person-centred support that makes a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one outreach support to adults and families affected by domestic abuse.
- Complete risk assessments, safety plans and personalised support plans.
- Support individuals moving on from refuge accommodation into the community.
- Deliver practical, emotional and advocacy support.
- Help clients access housing, legal, health and community services.
- Accompany clients to appointments when required, including court and housing meetings.
- Manage an individual caseload and maintain accurate, confidential records.
- Work collaboratively with police, social care, housing providers and other partner agencies.
- Attend multi-agency meetings, including MARAC where appropriate.
- Promote independence, confidence and long-term safety for survivors.
- Participate in the organisation’s on-call rota, providing emergency support outside normal working hours.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and confident supporting vulnerable adults and families.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults or families.
- Experience providing advocacy or support services.
- Understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
- Confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
- Ability to participate in the on-call rota.
