Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established nursery in Mortlake, Richmond. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join a supportive team and help lead the delivery of high-quality early years education and care.

The Role

As Nursery Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring children receive exceptional care in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. You will support staff development, maintain high standards across the nursery, and help ensure compliance with EYFS and safeguarding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operation of the nursery.
Lead and motivate the staff team to deliver outstanding childcare.
Ensure high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Support staff through coaching, mentoring and supervision.
Monitor children’s development and maintain accurate records.
Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
Assist with maintaining high standards for Ofsted inspections and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
Previous experience in a senior role within a nursery or early years setting.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Passion for providing outstanding childcare and supporting children’s development.
A caring, enthusiastic and professional approach.

Desirable

Previous Deputy Manager or Room Leader experience.
Experience supporting Ofsted inspections.
