About the Role
Joneshouse Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a well-established children’s residential home in Hinckley.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll play a key role in supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping to create a safe, nurturing and structured home where they can thrive.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll lead shifts, mentor colleagues and support the Team Leaders in ensuring the home operates to the highest standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
- Support, coach and mentor Residential Support Workers.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Deliver high-quality, therapeutic and person-centred care.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records, care plans and incident reports.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and company policies are followed at all times.
- Support Team Leaders and deputise in their absence where required.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential care setting.
- Experience leading shifts or supporting colleagues in a senior capacity.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Resilience, compassion and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
Qualifications
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable.
- If you do not already hold the qualification, our client will fully fund your training and support you to achieve it.
Salary & Benefits
Our client offers an excellent rewards package, including:
- Basic salary of £30,991 – £35,400
- Up to 4 sleep-ins per month, paid at £80 per sleep (approximately £3,840 per year)
- Attendance Allowance of up to £1,400 per year
- Total earnings of £36,231 – £40,640 per annum
