About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly established multi-site Specialist Mental Health children’s residential home with educational provision in Newmarket.
As Children’s Registered Home Manager, you will play a key leadership role in shaping and transforming the delivery of specialist care, ensuring children in your care experience the highest quality support.
You will manage a 5-bedded home for children aged 12–18, all requiring additional support due to mental illness or significant risk of self-injurious behaviours. Working within a multi-disciplinary team including clinicians and teachers, you will help children progress towards their individual care plan goals and achieve positive life outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the home

Develop and deliver care plans tailored to each child

Recruit, train, and develop a strong staff team

Maintain outstanding standards of care in line with Ofsted requirements

Consult with young people to ensure their voices are heard

Address safeguarding concerns and manage complaints effectively

Work in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals

Manage budgets and ensure the home operates efficiently
What We’re Looking For
-
Passionate about making a real difference to young people’s lives
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years

Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care – essential

Level 5 in Leadership & Management – preferred (or willingness to enrol within 6 months)

Knowledge of Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

Understanding of trauma and behavioural difficulties

Full UK driving licence
