Location: Locksheath

Salary: £40,810 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Predominantly Monday to Friday, with flexibility to cover shifts as required

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the leadership and daily operations of an Ofsted-registered children’s home in Locksheath. The successful candidate will help uphold high standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding, ensuring positive outcomes for the young people supported within the service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Practitioner ready to progress, or for an established Deputy Manager seeking a new and rewarding challenge.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the overall running and development of the home

• Lead, mentor, and motivate the staff team to deliver high-quality, child-focused care

• Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation

• Oversee and review care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies

• Contribute to inspections, audits, and continuous improvement within the service

• Work flexibly, including occasional shifts on the floor, to meet the needs of the home

Requirements

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)

• Experience working in a children’s residential care setting

• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks

• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and develop staff teams

• Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
