About the Role
Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Project Worker to support adults and families affected by domestic abuse within the community.
This rewarding role focuses on empowering survivors to rebuild their lives through practical, emotional and advocacy support. You’ll work closely with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them access services, remain safe, maintain accommodation and move towards independent living.
Working across Eastleigh and Winchester, you’ll manage your own caseload while collaborating with partner agencies to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one outreach support to adults affected by domestic abuse.
- Complete risk assessments, safety planning and support planning.
- Support individuals moving on from refuge accommodation into the community.
- Deliver practical, emotional and advocacy support.
- Assist clients in accessing housing, legal, health and community services.
- Accompany clients to appointments when required, including court and housing meetings.
- Manage an individual caseload and maintain accurate case records.
- Work closely with police, social care, housing providers and other partner agencies.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings, including MARAC where appropriate.
- Promote survivor independence, confidence and long-term safety.
- Take part in the organisation’s on-call rota providing emergency support outside normal working hours.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and confident working with vulnerable adults and families.
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults or families.
- Experience providing advocacy or support services.
- Understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively.
- Confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
- Ability to participate in the on-call rota.
