About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Individual Responsible Person (IRP) to provide compliance oversight and quality assurance across a children’s residential home in Burton upon Trent.

The successful candidate will act as the professional link between the organisation and Ofsted, ensuring services meet and exceed regulatory standards while promoting high-quality care and safeguarding practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete the Ofsted SC2 and ensure ongoing compliance with registration requirements

• Monitor and evaluate the quality of care in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015

• Conduct monthly Regulation 44 visits and produce detailed, objective reports

• Identify and report on areas for improvement, supporting the Registered Manager with action plans

• Promote and maintain high safeguarding and welfare standards across the service

• Provide independent oversight, challenge, and guidance to ensure continuous improvement

• Support the home in preparation for Ofsted inspections and contribute to service development

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Regulation 44 Visitor or Responsible Individual within children’s residential care

• Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, regulations, and quality standards

• Excellent report writing, communication, and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and objectively

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one)
