Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Scunthorpe. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young people through physical education — helping them build confidence, resilience, and teamwork skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.

The school caters to students aged 11–16, many with EHCPs and additional needs such as ADHD or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The environment is nurturing, with a focus on enabling pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings to re-engage and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible PE lessons for students of all abilities

• Promote physical activity, teamwork, and positive wellbeing

• Supervise both indoor and outdoor PE sessions safely and effectively

• Encourage students to explore new sports and develop new skills

• Support pupils’ individual learning needs and emotional development

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment

Requirements

• A strong passion for supporting students with SEND or SEMH needs

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a SEND or alternative education setting

• QTS or QTLS desirable but not essential

• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
