About the Role
JonesHouse Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a specialist provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a therapeutic residential children’s home in Derby. The home supports children aged 6–12 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) through a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach.

This is a unique opportunity for a compassionate, skilled leader to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can heal, grow, and thrive. You’ll lead a small and dedicated team, with full operational responsibility for the home.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the home

• Inspire and develop a team of care professionals to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care

• Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and all relevant legislation

• Champion safeguarding and child-centred practice

• Oversee personalised care plans, risk assessments, and therapeutic interventions

• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, local authorities, and other stakeholders

• Promote a culture of emotional safety, development, and stability for every child

• Manage budgets, staffing, and resources effectively

Requirements

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)

• Significant experience in residential childcare settings

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager preferred (strong Deputy Managers looking to step up will also be considered)

• Sound understanding of Ofsted regulations and children’s home legislation

• Passion for therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches

• Full UK driving licence – essential

• Must be aged 21 or over (in line with regulatory requirements)

• Must have the right to work in the UK
