Salary: Up to £54,000 (negotiable for the right person) plus bonuses
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (with the option to work 1 day per week from home)

About the Role
Joneshouse Recruitment is proud to be supporting our client in the search for a Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic residential children’s home in Derby, caring for children aged 6–12 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This role offers excellent progression opportunities, including the potential to move into dual registration, which can lead to an enhanced salary and bonus package.
It’s an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, experienced leader to step into a role where they can make a lasting difference. You’ll oversee a small, close-knit team, providing a structured and nurturing home where children are supported to heal, grow, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take full operational responsibility for the running of the home
  • Lead, inspire, and develop the care team to deliver outstanding therapeutic care
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation
  • Promote best practice in safeguarding and child-centred support
  • Oversee personalised care planning, risk assessments, and therapeutic interventions
  • Build effective working relationships with families, local authorities, and professionals
  • Maintain a safe, emotionally supportive, and development-focused environment
  • Manage budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation

Requirements
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
  • Substantial experience in residential childcare
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager is ideal – but strong Deputy Managers ready for the next step will also be considered
  • In-depth knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and children’s home regulations
  • Passionate about therapeutic models of care and trauma-informed practice
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
  • Must be aged 21+ (in line with regulatory requirements)
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
