Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum DOE + £5,000 annual bonus
Joneshouse Recruitment is working on behalf of a specialist children’s residential provider to recruit an experienced Children’s Registered Home Manager for a newly established service in Newmarket.
This is a rare opportunity to take a leadership role within a specialist mental health residential setting with integrated education provision. You will play a key role in shaping service delivery and creating positive, life-changing experiences for young people.
Role Overview
As Children’s Registered Home Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of a 5-bedded children’s home supporting young people aged 12–18 with complex mental health needs and high-risk behaviours.
Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including on-site clinical and education professionals, you will ensure high-quality, child-centred care and support young people to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children’s home

Develop and oversee individual care plans for each young person

Recruit, train, develop and retain a high-performing staff team

Consult with young people regarding their care and support plans

Allocate Key Workers and ensure effective delivery of care plans

Maintain high standards of care in line with Ofsted and regulatory requirements

Manage complaints, safeguarding and child protection concerns appropriately

Work in partnership with parents, carers and external professionals

Attend and contribute to planning, review and multi-agency meetings

Promote a strong safeguarding culture and positive home environment

Manage budgets and ensure the home operates within financial expectations
What We’re Looking For

A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years

Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care – Essential

Level 5 in Leadership and Management – Preferred (or willingness to enrol within 6 months)

Strong knowledge of Quality Standards, SCCIF and relevant childcare legislation

Excellent leadership, organisation and team management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Understanding of trauma, mental health and behavioural difficulties

Full UK driving licence
