Hours: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is proud to be recruiting for a Residential Manager to lead a brand-new, purpose-built 2-bed children’s home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in the West Midlands.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered or Deputy Manager to take ownership of a new service — shaping its culture, building a high-performing team, and creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where children can truly thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the new 2-bed EBD home.

  • Deliver consistently high standards of care aligned with Ofsted requirements.

  • Develop and maintain person-centred care plans to meet each young person’s unique needs.

  • Recruit, mentor, and motivate staff to provide therapeutic, trauma-informed care.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Build strong relationships with families, local authorities, and external agencies.

  • Maintain accurate records, supervision logs, and Ofsted documentation.

  • Promote a positive, resilient, and child-focused culture within the home.

  • Drive continuous improvement through effective leadership and innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Residential or Registered Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up.

  • In-depth understanding of EBD care and Ofsted regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.

  • Confident in setting up and leading a new service from inception.

  • Flexible, proactive, and passionate about achieving positive outcomes for young people.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

What’s on Offer

  • Salary: Starting from £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience).

  • Career Opportunity: Shape and develop a brand-new children’s home.

  • Progression: Genuine opportunities for growth and professional advancement.

  • Training & Development: Ongoing support and CPD to enhance your leadership skills.

  • Supportive Leadership: Work within a culture that values collaboration, trust, and excellence.
