Joneshouse Recruitment is delighted to support an independent specialist setting in Dudley in their search for a dedicated SENDCo. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to lead and enhance SEND provision, ensuring every learner receives the support they need to thrive.

The Role

As SENDCo, you will play a key strategic and operational role in shaping the school’s SEND provision, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and delivering high-quality support for pupils with a range of additional needs. You’ll work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to create inclusive, effective learning pathways for every student.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the strategic development of SEND provision across the school

• Complete Annual, Interim, and Emergency EHCP Reviews in line with statutory guidelines

• Oversee the daily operation of the SEND policy and coordinate targeted support

• Take responsibility for Looked After Children within the school

• Provide professional guidance to colleagues to strengthen SEND practice

• Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies for joined-up support

• Advise on resource allocation and budget use to meet pupils’ needs effectively

• Promote inclusion and ensure equitable access to the curriculum

• Lead and manage staff, ensuring effective deployment of resources

• Oversee interventions that support progress for all learners

• Conduct quality assurance of teaching and learning with a focus on SEND

• Attend and review PEP meetings

Requirements

• Accredited SENDCo qualification

• QTS or QTLS

• Passionate about inclusive education and student wellbeing

• Strong leadership experience or readiness to develop leadership skills

• Ability to effectively manage SEND provision in partnership with senior leaders

• Strong communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
