Salary: £30,160 – £32,656 per annum (DOE) + Sleep-in payments (approximately £7,200 per annum)
Hours: Full-time | 8:00am – 11:00pm | 1 day on, 2 days off

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a children’s residential home in Mickleover, DE3.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional to take the next step in their career, supporting children and young people in a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment while helping to lead a dedicated care team.

About the Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring children receive high-quality, person-centred care.

You will lead by example, support the development of colleagues and help maintain a safe, positive and compliant environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shifts, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the home.
  • Support children and young people in line with their individual care plans.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, reports and documentation.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all children remains the highest priority.
  • Supervise and support staff, providing guidance and role modelling best practice.
  • Assist with staff inductions and ongoing development.
  • Complete weekly operational checks and support quality assurance processes.
  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations.
  • Support neighbouring homes when required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working within children’s residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and children’s residential legislation.
  • Experience leading shifts and supporting staff development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence driving, including motorway and night driving.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
