Salary: £30,160 – £32,656 per annum (DOE) + Sleep-in payments (approximately £7,200 per annum)

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker / Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential home in Melton, LE13.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional to take the next step in their career, supporting children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment while developing leadership skills within an established team.

About the Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will lead shifts, support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, and ensure children receive outstanding care that promotes their safety, wellbeing and development.

For candidates appointed as Deputy Manager, you will also take responsibility for managing the home in the Registered Manager’s absence, supporting compliance, staff management and maintaining high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shifts, ensuring the safe and effective operation of the home.
  • Support children and young people in line with their care plans and individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate daily records, reports and documentation.
  • Support safeguarding procedures and promote positive outcomes for young people.
  • Supervise, mentor and role model good practice for staff.
  • Assist with staff inductions, supervision and ongoing development.
  • Complete weekly operational checks and support quality assurance processes.
  • Work alongside the Registered Manager to maintain compliance with Ofsted standards and regulations.
  • Support neighbouring homes where required.

Additional Deputy Manager Responsibilities

  • Act as the designated person in charge in the Registered Manager’s absence.
  • Support staffing management, rotas and operational oversight.
  • Maintain knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Regulation 44 visits and external inspections.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience within children’s residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and children’s residential legislation.
  • Experience leading shifts and supporting staff development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence driving, including motorway and night driving.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
