The Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Support Worker to join a dedicated residential childcare team in Northampton. This role is ideal for a qualified professional with a strong background in children’s residential care who is committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred support.

You will play a key role in supporting children and young people in a nurturing, structured, and safe home environment, working closely with a skilled team to promote positive outcomes and emotional wellbeing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people

  • Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing residential environment

  • Support daily routines, education, appointments, and activities

  • Implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports and reviews

  • Work in line with safeguarding policies, Ofsted regulations, and company procedures

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people

  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to the team culture


Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare

  • Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker within a Children’s Residential Home

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, inspections, supervision, and whistleblowing

  • Full UK manual driving licence with confidence driving at night and on motorways

  • Clean enhanced DBS


Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £32,000 OTE, including sleep-ins (approximately 8 per month at £50 each)

  • Overtime paid at +£2.50 per hour after 160 hours per month

  • Sleep-ins paid at £50 per shift

  • Pay reviews twice yearly (March & October)
